This is part one in this series! Stay tuned for more things I love that help me be zero waste.

I have been a zero-waster for a little while now and through trial and error, I have found some items I love. Some are unconventional while some I feel like it would be hard to live without. All are zero waste friendly and can easily be DIYed or bought from small businesses.

DIY Laundry Powder and Fabric Softener Crystals

I recently wrote about the laundry powder and fabric softener crystals I use to get my clothes clean and fresh. It is super easy and zero waste! I just make sure I have all the ingredients but a box of washing soda, borax and epsom salt last quite a while. You can make bigger batches or keep them smaller and make when needed.

One thing I didn't mention in the article was that you can hand grate the soap (it's what I do!) but you can also cut into small chunks and grate using a HIGH POWDERED food processor. Don't try to use one your mom bought you at the dollar store. It will destroy the motor.
